Series B17i - Chain, snap open along the inner radius

1. Can be opened along outer radius with plastic hinge (Series B17) and/or can be opened/closed in inner radius (Series B17i) - the two can be combined!
2. Small pitch for quiet, smooth running
3. Mounting bracket with integrated strain relief

Series B17i is suited for the following application types:

Vertical: Hanging applications, upright applications
Horizontal: Unsupported applications ≤ 1 m
Circular motions: Rotating applications possible, may require retrofit (machining retrofit is always needed starting at 180° rotational angle)

When to use series B17i "E2 mini":

When an e-chain® with 32 mm inner height is required
For inner widths up to 100 mm
For unsupported lengths up to 1,0 m and fill weights up to 1,5 kg/m
When a small e-chain® with large inner height is required
When a two-piece opening e-chain® is needed
When easy filling with mounting brackets is required
When an interior separation is required

When not to use series B17i "E2 mini":

When quick opening of the links is required

* The required clearance height is HF = H + 25 mm (at 1.5 kg/m additional load), this should be observed for all types of applications. Please consult igus® if space is particurlarly restricted.

Unsupported length

The unsupported length is dependent on the additional load
X-axis: Unsupported length in m FLB/FLG
Y-axis Additional load in kg/m

FLG = unsupported with straight upper run

Reference example A:
Additional load = 0,75 [kg/m]
Unsupported length FLB = 0,75 m
Travel = 1,50 m

Option 1: Vertical separators Vertical separators are used if only a vertical subdivision of the Energy Chain® interior is required. A slotted separator is used for this subdivision. This separator can also be used with full-width shelves for a continuous horizontal subdivision. By standard, vertical separators are assembled every other Energy Chain® link.
